Visions for Vacancies: What Should Go in Place of Marlin & Rays?

The old home of Marlin & Rays is located on prime real estate on Sudley Road in Manassas.

Very little evidence of Marlin & Rays Restaurant is left on the Sudley Road building that less than a week ago housed the now-defunct seafood franchise of Ruby Tuesday Inc.

All Marlin & Rays signage has already been removed from the building, leaving only a red and white "closed for business" banner near the entrance.

Without the signs, the empty building now resembles its sister restaurant Ruby Tuesday, minus the black awning and phrase "fresh American dining" in white font. The location was actually the home of a Ruby Tuesday prior to the company opening the Marlin & Rays in that spot a little over a year ago.

Ruby Tuesday officials and sources familiar with the corporation said they shuttered the franchise because they felt staff and talents could be more effectively used elsewhere in the company.

So what do you see in this now-empty space of prime property along Sudley Road? Tell us in the comments.

Oh my goodness! I haven't been to Sonic since I left South Carolina. I never liked it much, except when they had that birthday cake shake.

I wish you all would understand that location is bad because of the topography, and the layout of the shopping center. There is not enough space there for that.

I have called the son of Anita and asked many times to bring Anita's Restaurant back to Manassas. We drive to Chantilly location now, but would love them back in Manassas.

Bonnie

BoneFish Restaurant - excellent Seafood - wouldn't have to go out of Manassas to Centreville or Gainsville to the nearest one!

BoneFish is good. It has changed as a franchise over the years. The first one I ate at was very expensive. Someone told me they lowered their prices after the economy went south.

Would love to see a MAX & ERMA'S. There is one at Dulles Airport but its at the gate location so not available to the walk in public. Many locations in Pennsylvania and they have great food.
