The Manassas Park High Cougars secured a first-place ranking Saturday during the Bull Run District Wrestling Tournament at Clarke County High School.
The team ranked higher than seven other teams and will advance to the Region B Tournament later this month, Manassas Park High wrestling Coach Mike Payne said.
"I was happy to see all 14 wrestlers advance to the Region B Tournament," Payne said. "We had a couple of kids avenge earlier losses to advance to the regional tournament. We'll need to wrestle a little more consistent to advance to the state tournament."

Pretty pathetic with your lack of coverage of the wrestling team. They are one of the most successful teams the school fields year in and year out. Its quite hysterical that you not only post this story at 2:10 in the morning on Monday, when the meet was at Saturday, but you misspell a wrestler's name (Zac Treuting) and you provide the wrong placing of a District Champion (Corey Jenkins). Also, you show a picture of two wrestlers that clearly are not Manassas Park wrestlers. What a joke. Just so you know, Manassas Park wrestles at Strasburg High School this Friday and Saturday. Maybe you could provide some TIMELY and CORRECT reporting of this. Either way! Heck of job by the entire MP wrestling team and coaches, GO COUGARS!!!

ALSO... I hope you congratulated Coach Payne on being the Bull Run District Coach of the year, since you have yet to report about that either. Great job Coach!
