Manassas Park, Manassas Spared From Massive Outages

At 9 p.m. Manassas Park had full power, according to the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative outage center.

Very few Manassas Park and Manassas residents were in the dark Monday, despite a torrent of winds and rains spilling from the skies as the remnants of Hurricane Sandy, now known as an extra tropical depression, made its way onshore.

About 100 Manassas customers were without power around 9 p.m. after a power line went down at Traveller Street and Fort Drive, Manassas City communications manager Patty Prince said.

There are traffic lights out at the intersections of Center Street and Stonewall Road, Center Street and Lee Avenue, and at the intersection of Center Street and Wellington Road.

In neighboring Prince William County, some in the Greater Manassas area, about 10,000 people were without power, according to the Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative outage site.

No outages were reported in Manassas Park.

I was without power from 10:40 pm to 6:10 am. Glad we have NOVEC. They are one of the best power companies.

Tiffany,
For NOVEC: Call NOVEC's interactive voice response system (IVR) at 703-335-0500 or toll-free 1-888-335-0500.

The kids are in SC visiting family. Is it safe to travel back to Manassas City? We live off of Signal Hill Rd.

Manassas City has really been spared from much damage. Here is a link to the roads nearby where flooding is reported. http://patch.com/A-zfXs
