A Manassas Park man who police said struck the back of a car on July 21 and then left the scene was located and arrested later the same day.

It happened at 8:30 a.m. on Swann Court when the driver of a white Honda with a "smiley face" on the back, struck the side bumper of another car and sped off without stopping, Manassas Park Police reports show. 

The investigating officer spotted the suspect vehicle later that day and questioned the suspect, who eventually admitted to being involved in the crash.

He is charged with hit and run and property damage. He is expected to appear in court on Sept. 20.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
