The dog days of summer are in full swing and the Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation is planning a special event for the canines Saturday.

The Canine Wellness Day is a not only a fundraiser for the Manassas Park Dog Park, but is also an education event for the canine variety and their human companions.

The two-hour event begins at 10 a.m. at the dog park behind the Manassas Park Community Center and will feature information about pet healthy and holistic medicine, among other things.

There will also be a canine agility course, rabies vaccinations and microchipping onsite.
