Cougar Elementary Has The "Write" Stuff
Cougar Elementary School students earned a huge surprise after they met their goal of writing 5,000 letters through the schools Wee Deliver Program.
The principals and assistant principals of three Manassas Park schools recently took to the roof of Cougar Elementary School and waved to students as they arrived for classes.
Cougar Elementary Principal Pamela Terry, Cougar Assistant Principal Katrina Saunders, Manassas Park Elementary Principal Stacey Mamon, Assistant Principal Melissa Pitts and Manassas Park Middle School Principal Eric Neff were all on the roof of the school as a reward for the students who met their goal of sending 5,000 letters in one year though Wee Deliver, a student-run mail delivery service.
Wee Deliver continues to push the envelope—literally. The students hope to handle 10,000 letters by June.
Wee Deliver is coordinated by Tracy Holland, a second grade teacher at Cougar Elementary School.
