If you need another reason to avoid Interstate 95/395, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close multiple lanes on I-95/395 north and south, from Garrisonville Road (Route 610), exit 143 in Stafford, to Duke Street (Route 236), exit 3, Sunday through Thursday nights, Aug. 26-30, starting at 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The lane closures are in place for barrier placement, test bores, and other related construction work on the new 95 Express Lanes project. 

All lanes will be open by 5 a.m. every morning.

This work is in addition to nightly High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane closures for 95 Express Lanes work as previously announced.

All lane closures will be suspended for the upcoming Labor Day Holiday weekend from noon on Aug. 31 until noon Sept. 4.
