Armed Youths Carjack Vehicle

After police found the vehicle, four youths fled the car and it struck a concrete pillar.

Four local youths were charged in relation to a Manassas area carjacking, Prince William County Police said.

A 41-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man reported at 9:17 p.m. Wednesday that they were parking their vehicle on the 7900 block of Community Drive when three unknown males approached them. Two of the boys displayed what looked like handguns and ordered the victims from their vehicle. One of the suspects fled on foot, while the other two got into the vehicle.

The victims did not report any injuries.

Police officers later found the car in the drive-thru of a McDonald's on Portsmouth Road. Seven people were inside and four, including the driver, fled on foot. The vehicle was left in the drive position and continued forward until it struck a concrete pillar.

Police detained three people who were seated in the backseat, who they later determined were not involved in the carjacking. Police used a K-9 to search for the remaining suspects, and found a 17-year-old suspect nearby. He was detained without further incident, police said.

After an investigation, Robbery Unit detectives were able to identify the three remaining suspects from the car, and found them at an address on Albemarle Drive. A 12-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, both from Manassas, were arrested and each charged with carjacking and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police said that two of the males involved in the crime met up with the other individuals at the Manassas Mall after the carjacking. A 13-year-old female drove the stolen vehicle to McDonald's, where police found them. Officers charged the teenager with receiving stolen property, destruction of property and reckless driving.

Police also determined that that the weapons the two youths used during the carjacking were BB guns, which they stole before the incident.

Police are still searching for one suspect, a black male, about 17 years old, 5'9", who has a thin build, lazy right eye and a tear drop tattoo under his left eye.

The information in this article was provided by the Prince William County Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The parents of these teens should also be arrested and charged. Until parents are held responsible for their shitty kids, this stuff is going to keep happening.

There is no such thing as parents these days. Children rule the roost in alot of cases and the so called parents if you will are often at home shooting up or drinking to oblivion. Heathens at best. Sad state our society is falling into. Just another day in good ole' Manassas with its influx of incoming trash.

Your moronic act is typical of the dumb-downed culture now rampant in the OooSa. N. Smith made no racist remark. You are the racist because you jumped the line and went bananas with your own mindless prejudices. How did you get your job? I can only imagine. You are not qualified to observe or report. Get out of the way and let someone competent "reply".

Why charge the parents?!? Parents can't be with their children 24/7. I'm sure the children involved in this crime parents taught them right from wrong. These kids today seem to be from a different planet. They need to be responsible for their own actions! Arresting the parents is not teaching them any kind of lessons.

Are you kidding me? You think this was the first time these "youths" did something criminal? I guarantee you that they live in fatherless homes, number one. And number two, if a mother does not know where her young teenage (12-14 years) kid is at 9:00pm the day after Christmas, then I would say there is a serious problem. And what the hell is a 12-year-old doing hanging out with a 17-year-old...particularly one who already has a tattoo...and ON HIS FACE?! Come on, people, wake up! These are juvenile delinquent kids who come from broken homes where the parent(s) don't keep track of them.

Also, parents are responsible for teaching their children morals and protecting them from dangerous outside influences....like 17-year-old black males with tattoos on their faces. Where do you think they got the gun from? Ultimately the responsibility of those kids falls on the shoulders of parents.

Parents ARE responsible for underage youths, but cannot be arrested for a crime they (the parents) did not commit. However, the parents SHOULD be held responsible for ALL of the COSTS associated with arresting the underage youths, including cost of the police, processing/finger printing, incarceration, legal fees, court costs....and, of course, any and all damages involved, in this case a stolen car.

They can be charged with neglect and child endangerment if they allow their child to roam around town at night unsupervised with a tattooed teenager with a gun.
